Their eyes met across a crowded caffe bar PORTAL four years ago. They were both with their friends but kept looking each others way all night long. As she was leaving, her friend gave him her phone number on a piece of paper and texting begun. It took them almost a year to go on a date. A proper date. As he was walking her home that night, they kissed for the very first time; bus line 114 was the “kiss crime scene”. That same summer, while they were apart (cause he was serving tourists and waiting tables on the seaside), they simultaneously came to the same conclusion: “That’s it. We are meant to be together!”. They got engaged shortly after his return to the city that fall; with a rings made of blade of grass on another wedding. Jelena and Duje, your wedding was one of the most intimate and emotional weddings I ever photographed. And thank your for freezing you booties off during our photo shoot 🙂
Love this vintage clock the groom had in his pocket:
I guess he heard this zillion times, but doesn’t he remind you of a young Mick Jagger? Right?
Jelena is one of my maid of honour oldest friends (I now sound like my grandma while she explains our kinship ties). We met years ago and we clicked in first 10 minutes; she is one of the most beautiful souls I’ve ever met.
P.S. It was cold really cold that day but she coped with the cold like a champ.
My favourites from the day:
Remember the rings made of blade of grass?
Her family members played instruments as Jelena and Duje entered the church; here, her father and brother are playing the guitars.
Jelena and Duje, I wish you all the happiness in the world but it seems to me that you already have that; I’m so glad you chose me to capture the beginning of the rest of your life.
